10 Sep Webinar: Time Synchronization in the Power Grid with IEEE1588
ICYMI: Webinar Recorded live on September 10, 2024.
Time synchronization is of growing importance to grid operations. With the surge in power demand from energy hungry data centers and factories, as well as the penetration of renewables, utilities start to deploy applications to process precise grid measurements collected by phase measurement units (PMUs) to detect events such as frequency disturbance, oscillation detection and harmonics. Utilities records synchronized power system signals and disturbance across the grid for critical event analysis. The latest Ethernet-based differential protection systems also require precise timing to align current data for comparison. All these applications require accurate and resilient time synchronization. Listen to our webinar, where we will:
• Explain the fundamentals of IEEE1588 technology;
• Explore the network requirements for the IEEE1588 clock hierarchy;
• Outline a resilient, interoperable end-to-end synchronization network blueprint across the electrical grid for reliable timing distribution
